The borough of Lichtenberg has been seeing a number of new apartment developments recently. Adding to a varied mixture of gründerzeit style, interwar architecture and GDR plattenbau housing company HOWOGE helps to counter the scarcity of affordable housing in Berlin.

On the grounds of a former fire station at Rathausstraße and situated nearby the town hall next to a park one development delivers a fine combination of apartments, retail and a kindergarten.

Hemprich Tophof Architekten designed a triangular block solution in the shape of an open triangle. Embracing a central garden it contains 136 apartment units varying in size.
