In spring I was hired to shoot this row of high-standard residential and commercial buildings for Berlin architects Hemprich Tophof. They form the western front of a new built block at Schinkelplatz right in the centre of historic Berlin.

Located at Niederlagstraße the five-storey buildings face the Friedrichswerder Church of Karl Friedrich Schinkel. Truth be told, this urban juxtaposition is rather cramped. The apartments are as little as only ten meters away from its historical neighbor.

Still the architects knew how to masterfully make a virtue of this burden. They placed the windows in a way so they would provide a framework for particularly beautiful details of the church facade.
